I swear that the Ministry cafeteria's biscotti is made of parchment, and the coffee of mud this morning. There is nothing more disheartening at this time of day than a breakfast lacking in... every capacity.

At least they have good soup.

At the time I felt that inserting myself would be a pointless effort, though their short responses are certainly no indication as to what was discussed behind wards. Family versus politics, politics versus family, at least. Ever the want for propriety from Edgar, while Ollie and I... I suppose that at best we are unconventional. Though perhaps myself more so. All joking about procreation and my lack of spouse aside, I have no intention of stepping into those roles, and --

I am dwelling on this and have been for days. Perhaps years, I can't even remember anymore. Regardless, there are more important things to concern myself with this morning. Absolving this headache, for starters, and then... I need a cigarette.

I cannot help but applaud Miss Colleen Branstone's daring in writing such an anecdotic criticism of the Death Eaters and their tunnel-vision, as well as offer my kudos to the Daily Prophet for allowing something that is clearly controversial to go to print. In a climate such as this (where many do not speak their minds for fear of having their own beliefs and values turned against them by a group of terrorists intent on ripping at society's seams) it is refreshing to be reminded that free speech is still alive and kicking, and that there are still magical citizens of this country unwilling to sit back and allow the tyrannical rule of a self-appointed Lord to overwhelm and destroy us all. Additionally, while I realize that the dear old 'Dark Lord' and his minions are entitled to voice their beliefs as well, the extremism of murdering people in their beds rather (pointedly) takes away from the validity of their cause and message. There is at least some distinction in definition between criminals and politicians.
